What is Vaser Liposuction?

It’s an advanced body contouring procedure that selectively removes unwanted body fat.  It is an alternative to the harsh techniques of traditional liposuction. Vaser Liposuction uses state of the art ultrasound technology designed to gently reshape your body. What distinguishes the Vaser Lipo procedure is its ability to differentiate fat from other important tissues, such as nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue. Innovative Vaser technology breaks apart fat cells while preserving these other important tissues to promote smooth results and rapid healing. Small 4mm incisions are made after local anesthesia, fluid is instilled, the Vaser is used until uniform melting is achieved, then the liquefied fat is removed meticulously until maximal thinning, smoothing or shaping is achieved.

How much does it cost? Once Dr. Stampar has had the opportunity to meet with you and discuss your case he will supply a full estimate of fees for your proposed surgery, so that you know all your facts and figures – medical and financial – before you make your decision.

How long is the procedure? Dr. Stampar is a perfectionist and is given the whole day to achieve such results. After a Vaser Liposuction procedure, patients are advised they may leak excess fluid for a day, take 3 days of preventive antibiotic and return to normal activity as tolerated the next day. It takes 8-12 weeks for complete healing but your improved shape is seen in 3-4 days. Patients wear special compression garments for the first 72 hours after surgery to help the skin contract smoothly to the body’s new contours.  After the compression garment, patients are advised to wear a form of shape wear (such as Spanx) for the next two to three weeks. Cold Laser treatments can “milk out” the swelling are generally scheduled at three and six weeks out from the surgery at no additional charge.
